A head-on automobile accident has caused injuries to both drivers involved. The crash happened in on Louisiana 415 near New Roads around 11 a.m. on Jan. 8.
The Louisiana State Police stated their belief that a 34-year-old female resident of New Roads was driving northbound when, for reasons unknown, her vehicle went off the left side of the road. She tried to bring her vehicle back under control, but she oversteered in her attempt to get back on the road. Her vehicle traveled into the path of southbound traffic just past the junction with La. 413. An 18-year-old male resident of Ventress was moving south at the time and collided with her. The police were unable to state exactly why the woman veered off the road.
The car accident required the closure of La. 415 for a substantial amount of time as emergency personnel responded to the crash. Both drivers were taken to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital for treatment of their injuries. The woman was said to have been seriously wounded, while the man was reported to have only been moderately hurt.
Injuries suffered in a car accident may have a severe impact upon the economic life of the injured people. If the person was harmed in an accident that was not entirely their fault, then the law protects their right to demand a reasonable amount of compensation from any person whose irresponsibility or malfeasance contributed to the problem. An attorney may be able to render assistance to those who find themselves physically or financially damaged by another. They can help to explain the process by which they can file a lawsuit seeking recovery for their personal injury, and they can aid them in bringing the suit before the court.
