Louisiana man faces charges of negligent homicide

A 27-year-old man involved in a collision in February remained at a prison in Donaldsonville on April 22 instead of posting a $100,000 bail. The driver will face felony and misdemeanor charges for a collision that resulted in the death of a 66-year-old SUV driver. Police reports state that there was no evidence that the man had consumed any drugs or alcohol the morning of the Feb. 22 collision, and the driver admitted to having done drugs the previous day.

Premature aging of brain a possible effect of head injury

Louisiana individuals who have traumatic brain injuries or loved ones with traumatic brain injuries may be interested to learn that those injuries may cause the brain to age prematurely. This was suggested in a study published in a medical journal in April.

New Orleans crash kills 1

On April 5, New Orleans authorities reported that a 27-year-old woman was killed in a car crash on Interstate 55. The state police reported that the woman had been involved in another accident and was outside of her vehicle when she was struck by a 2003 Toyota.

Multi-car collision kills Opelousas man

At 9:30 p.m. on March 27, an automobile accident occurred on U.S. Highway 190 that left one man dead and a number of other people injured. The Louisiana State Police stated that the accident happened near the intersection of 190 with Interstate 49 and involved three separate vehicles.
